Founded in 2019, MITTAPHAP Education is a registered nonprofit with the Ministry of Education in Laos PDR. Located in Nathong Village near Vang Vieng, the project continues the mission of the former EEFA-Saelao by offering free English education and sustainable development opportunities to the local community.
We operate under the belief that education is the foundation of equality—and we’re here to make that belief a reality through hands-on learning, community involvement, and international collaboration.
Education. Environment. Employment.
Our Sustainable Development Projects (SDPs) are driven by this mission:
Education: Free English classes, digital literacy, and skills training for all ages
Environment: Organic farming, eco-building, and sustainable living practices
Employment: Fair-wage opportunities and job training for local youth
To build a holistic, sustainable model of development that empowers local people through education, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity. We lead by example and aim to:
Educate and empower the community
Promote sustainable practices
Provide practical alternatives to conventional living
Foster cross-cultural exchange and understanding
We aim to be a recognized leader in sustainable development in Laos and Cambodia. Our goal is to build a thriving, self-sufficient community where waste becomes resource, learning is lifelong, and sustainability is the norm—not the exception.
We are proud recipients of the 2015 Energy Globe National Award for Lao PDR, recognizing our work in renewable energy and resource conservation.
We’re expanding adult education, launching new community business projects, and enhancing our eco-systems on-site. Upcoming initiatives include:
Producing and selling natural local products.
Creating efficient water and waste systems.
Forming new partnerships to fund and sustain our growth.
